Agreeing to these terms
By creating a Wordhabit account you accept these terms. If you do not, do not create one. Wordhabit is operated by Ethiel Adiassa, reachable at [email protected].
Who may use Wordhabit
You must be 13 or older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. One account per person; you are responsible for what happens under yours, including keeping your password to yourself.
What the app does
Wordhabit shows you one word a day and helps you retain it through flashcards, quizzes and spaced review. It is a learning tool, not a certification, a translation service, or a substitute for professional language instruction. We make no promise about how much vocabulary you will retain — that depends on you.
Your content and your data
Your learning progress is yours. We use it to run the app for you, and nothing else. What we collect and how to delete it is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Our content
The word definitions, examples, illustrations, design and software are ours or our licensors'. You may use them inside the app for your own learning. You may not copy the vocabulary corpus, scrape the service, resell the content, or build a competing product from it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break into accounts, systems or data that are not yours;
- automate access to the service — scraping, bulk requests, or anything that degrades it for other people;
- reverse engineer the app except where the law expressly allows it;
- use Wordhabit for anything illegal.
Subscriptions
Wordhabit offers a free tier and may offer paid plans. Paid plans are billed through the App Store or Google Play, and those stores — not us — handle payment, renewal and refunds under their own terms. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your store account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period already paid, except where the law requires it.
Deleting your Wordhabit account does not cancel a subscription. The store bills it, so cancel it there first — otherwise it keeps renewing after your account is gone.
If we change a price, we will tell you before it applies to you, and you may cancel rather than accept it.
Ending the agreement
You can leave whenever you like: Profile → Delete account. That ends this agreement. You have 30 days to change your mind — signing in again brings the account back — and after that your data is erased for good.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Unless the breach is serious or we are legally obliged to act immediately, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.
The service is provided as it is
We work to keep Wordhabit available and correct, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided without warranties of any kind.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data where you have not kept your own record. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded — including for death, personal injury, or fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Wordhabit after that means you accept them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
